This class is an introduction to the use of stabilizers and different hooping methods. It is in lecture/demo format (you don't need to bring your machine).

These classes are for customers who have purchased new machines from our store. You will become familiar with your machine, its parts and their functions, threading, bobbin winding, balancing tension, machine needles (which one to use when), machine maintenance and troubleshooting. This class is a prerequisite for all other Machine Mastery classes

You will become familiar with basic utility stitches including what stitches to use when sewing with knits, overcasting seams, blind hem, jeans hem, buttonholes and sewing buttons on with your machine. You will create samples to keep for reference

Basic quilting techniques will be covered including how to get a scant 1/4 seam allowance, using your walking foot (even feed/dual feed foot) to quit layers by stitching decorative stitches. You will learn how to set up your machine for free motion quilting. As well, you will try your hand at blanket stitch applique. You will create samples to keep for reference.

This level is for those who have a computerized machine with memory and programming functions.

This class introduces you to blanket stitch applique. You will practice this stitch on a variety of shapes in order to master outside corners, curves, circles, inside corners and other challenging shapes.

If you are ready to try quilting, this class is a great place to start. A new endeavour can seem a little overwhelming at first; however, we will ease you into this creatively satisfying hobby. You will be introduced to the “language” of quilting as well as basic quilting skills such as preparing your fabric, accurate rotary cutting, finding a perfect scant ¼” seam on your machine, strip piecing, matching seams, pressing techniques, squaring up your blocks, adding borders, quilting your quilt, and finishing it with binding. You are guaranteed a successful first quilt with this quick and easy project. Four patch blocks are alternated with a plain block of a busy, focus fabric. Course Level: Novice
